Mary Lea Carroll is an award winning author of two previous books: Saint Everywhere-Travels in Search of the Lady Saints (a People Magazine Pick) and Somehow Saints-More Travels in Search of the Saintly. Before marriage and family life, Mary Lea Carroll was a travel guide, part-time journalist and writer’s assistant at Paramount Studios. When her children were young, she taught children’s creative writing from her kitchen table and assisted her husband in his motion picture advertising business. She is a gifted storyteller and a MOTH story slam winner. Writing and storytelling combine many of her interests: Travel, comedy, art appreciation, and family and community life. Mary Lea Carroll graduated from San Francisco State University and has been married to Bill Carroll for 37 years. They have three adult daughters and two grandchildren.
