Gerda Govine Ituarte

Dr. Gerda Govine Ituarte established the Pasadena Rose Poets with seasoned and published poets in 2016 and served as Editor of their two published collections in 1999 and 2022. She established poetry readings at Pasadena City Council Meetings 2017-2019. They are the Poets-in-Residence for the Pasadena Public Library.  Members of the PRP read in numerous venues, for example, Vromans Bookstore,  El Portal Restaurant, Pasadena Playhouse, Altadena Public Library, The Last Bookstore, Chinatown, Laemmle Theatre, and other cities in Los Angeles County, San Diego County, numerous states and on the international stage. Members reading at LitFest 2023 are Teresa Mei Chuc, Hazel Clayton Harrison, Carla Sameth and Gerda Govine Ituarte. She is the author of  five poetry book collections. Her memoir is a work-in-progress. Govine Ituarte was a participant in the Carrizozo Artist-in-Residence Program in New Mexico March 2022.
