Mental Illness, a Heroic Journey, Saturday, May 4th, 2:00 – 3:00pm, Mountain View Mausoleum
I grew up south of San Francisco, in Menlo Park. After receiving a BA from Yale, I relocated to New Mexico and played in rock bands. In the mid-70s I toured as a sound technician with groups including the Grateful Dead (yes, I worked the Cornell 77 show). A freelance gig as production manager for the 1981 Apple Computer Expo tour sparked an infatuation with small computers and led to a second career, serving as Systems VP for a radio industry trade publication and developing long term care insurance software for Huntington Hospital. In 1990 I began a long run as an independent IT consultant and database applications developer, specializing in legal, healthcare and publishing systems. My wife Judy and I are 40-year Altadena residents and friends of Julie Parker.
