Romaine Washington

Romaine Washington is a twice-nominated Pushcart Prize poet whose work has also been nominated for Best of the Net. Washington is an Inland Empire native, and the author of Purgatory Has an Address, a poetry mini-memoir centered in San Bernardino and Sirens in Her Belly. Washington is the editor of These Black Bodies Areā¦ A Blacklandia Anthology, highlighting both local and national writers and artists. She is involved with the Bridges that Carried Us Over project, an oral history archive of African Americans in the Inland Empire. Washington believes place helps to define who we are by our experiences and the stories we inherit which impact the stories we become.
