Ernesto Covarrubias
Libraries That Make the Neighborhood, May 5th, 12:30 – 1:30pm, Mt. View Mausoleum
Ernesto Covarrubias, a SoCal native, started in libraries in 2013 as a library page with LA County Library. His supportive colleagues and time with the library motivated him to pursue a career in library science. In 2021, he received his Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. After graduating from SJSU, Ernesto worked for the Santa Clarita Public Library as a children’s assistant and was promoted to a children’s librarian soon after. Ernesto now works as a teen librarian for the Pasadena Public Library. As a librarian, Ernesto strives to connect with the youth in the community to hopefully inspire, much like he was, by the people in libraries. In his spare time, Ernesto plays video games, watches movies, and most recently started traveling.
