Kate Maruyama is the author of Harrowgate (47North), Family Solstice (Omnium Gatherum), Bleak Houses (Raw Dog Screaming Press), and the upcoming novels The Collective (Writ Large Press, 2024) and Alterations (Running Wild, 2025). Her short stories have appeared in numerous anthologies and journals. She is a longtime teacher of fiction, nonfiction, and screenwriting at Antioch University Los Angeles, Cal State LA, and teaches private novel workshops. She serves on the board of Women Who Submit Lit which works toward gender parity in the publishing world by offering resources and support to femme identifying and nonbinary writers.
